What is the ruling on indulging in dogmatic whisperings resulting from weakness of faith and not repelling them?

Whispers (Waswas) are not necessarily an indication of weak faith; rather, no one has been free of them, as authentically reported from Ibn Abbas. It is obligatory to strive against oneself by turning away from them and not giving in to Satan. Feeling the danger of these whispers and seeking their ruling indicates their abhorrence, which is a sign of faith, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "That is pure faith."
