Does the hide of an animal slaughtered for other than Allah become pure through tanning?

What has been slaughtered for other than Allah, like carrion, is forbidden to eat, due to Allah’s saying: (Forbidden to you are carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah). As for the hide of an animal slaughtered for other than Allah, if it is from an animal whose meat is permissible to eat, it becomes purified by tanning. But if it is from an animal whose meat is not permissible to eat, it does not become purified by tanning.
