An uncertified marriage (zawaj urfi) that fulfills the conditions and pillars is valid, but the lack of its documentation can lead to significant harms. Obtaining the guardian's consent over the phone is not valid; rather, he or his representative must be present at the عقد (marriage contract) session. However, it is valid for the guardian to appoint someone else as his representative over the phone.
