What is the ruling on a mother's insistence with her recently religious son, demanding money or goods available in his country, or for him to take her for Umrah, despite his knowledge of his financial inability, and given that he had previously taken her for Umrah and it was a shopping trip?

Parents are enjoined with good treatment and companionship in kindness, especially the mother. It is not obligatory for the child to give his mother from his money except what she needs. However, he should satisfy her with whatever he can of money, gifts, or necessities. The wife should be an aid to her husband in honoring his mother. The mother's shortcomings do not justify failing to honor her, for honoring is an obligation upon the child and is not conditional on the parent's good treatment.
