What is the ruling on playing soccer on vacant land without the knowledge of its owners?

The default rule is that it is impermissible to dispose of another's property without their permission, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The property of a Muslim is not lawful [to take] except with his willing consent." However, if it is highly probable that the owner of the property is pleased, then there is no harm in benefiting from their property. This is further strengthened if the people of the area are accustomed to playing in such lands without the owners' prohibition, as customary permission is equivalent to verbal permission. This is also the case if the owner of the land knows that people are playing or sitting on it and does not prevent them. Thus, the owner's permission can be through words, actions, acknowledgement, or consent.
