Regarding women, is a ring considered an apparent adornment?

The ring is not among the apparent adornments that a woman is permitted to display to non-mahrams. It is obligatory for her to cover her face and hands. Scholars have weakened the narrations attributed to Ibn Abbas in interpreting "except what is apparent thereof" to mean kohl and the ring, or the hand and the face. Even if the narration were authentic, it would apply to the state of women before the revelation of the verse of hijab (definition). After its revelation, it became obligatory to cover everything. Ibn al-Jawzi interpreted "except what is apparent thereof" to mean clothing, which is the more accurate interpretation. It is forbidden to look at anything of non-mahram (definition) women without a valid excuse. Adornments that can be concealed are commanded to be concealed, while those that cannot be concealed, such as outer garments, or those that become uncovered out of necessity or for a benefit, are not blameworthy.
