Does a Muslim receive the virtue of early arrival on Friday if he leaves the mosque and then returns to it?

The virtue of coming early for Jumu'ah prayer has been established, and worshippers differ in their reward according to their promptness. So, whoever bathes on Friday and then goes in the first hour is as if he sacrificed a camel. Then the reward decreases with the lateness of the hour until the Imam comes out, at which point the angels attend to listen to the remembrance.

Whoever leaves after coming early for an urgent need, such as relieving oneself or performing ablution, is hoped to receive the full reward. As for whoever leaves for a non-urgent need that can be delayed, he has interrupted his waiting for the prayer, and he will only receive reward for what he has done.

What is meant by coming early for Jumu'ah is for a person to go himself, not by reserving a spot with a handkerchief or similar. It is permissible to reserve a spot for someone who left the mosque due to an excuse and will return. However, for someone who left for his home or shop and reserved his spot, this is an infringement on the right of others.
