After undergoing tubal ligation due to previous pregnancy complications and having given birth to two children, we now feel remorse and that we have done something that contradicts God's commands. So what should we do?
The act is considered a grave error because it contravenes the 's encouragement for procreation and the increase of the Muslim nation. You should consult people of knowledge and expertise regarding the possibility of restoring the matter to its original state. If that proves impossible, then you both must repent and seek forgiveness, and do not despair of Allah's mercy, for every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent, and Allah rejoices at the repentance of His servant. And be diligent in Sayyid al-Istighfar and seeking forgiveness during virtuous times, such as the last third of the night. And if the husband is keen on having offspring, he can marry another woman.
