What is the ruling on a man, who is not a محرم (a close male relative whom a woman can never marry), giving a woman — whether she is married or not — gifts of gold, diamonds, and the like? What is the ruling on accepting or refusing these gifts? Does a husband have the right to prevent his wife from accepting gifts from non-mahrams? And what is the ruling on one who disobeys her husband's command in this regard?

If the gift is free of corrupt purposes and malicious intentions, then there is no objection to a man gifting a foreign woman or vice versa, and there is no objection to accepting it, unless it is in exchange for an unlawful compensation, or if the husband forbids his wife from it due to his fear of suspicion. For she has an independent financial responsibility, and the husband does not have the right to dispose of her wealth.
