Does the use of hair accessories containing synthetic hair, such as clips and headbands, count as hair extension (wasl)?

There is no impediment to tying hair with something that does not resemble it, such as colored silk threads. However, tying it with something that does resemble natural hair, such as synthetic hair, wool, or rags, is considered makrooh (disliked) by the majority of scholars due to the general prohibition by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, against a woman attaching anything to her head.
