With which hand will the disobedient believer, who will enter Hellfire due to his abundant major sins, receive his book?

The verses mention that the record will be taken either by the right hand, or by the left hand, or from behind the back. Some exegetes have gone so far as to say that the one who takes his record with his left hand is the same as the one who takes it from behind his back. Ibn Hazm holds the view that the victorious believers will take their records with their right hands, the disbelievers with their left hands, and the believers who committed major sins will take them from behind their backs. However, there is no explicit text to support this assertion. The apparent meaning of the verses indicates that whoever takes his record with his right hand will not be punished, and whoever takes it with his left hand will be punished. Therefore, it is probable that those who committed major sins and are punished are among those who will take their records with their left hands.
