The question

What should I do after repenting from a previous relationship with a young man who got married and then divorced, while feeling afraid that my repentance will not be accepted due to my injustice towards his wife and my inability to seek her forgiveness, even though I have given charity on her behalf?

The answer

It is not obligatory for you to seek forgiveness from the woman you committed adultery with, nor is it permissible to inform her of that. Rather, conceal yourself and your repentance is sufficient for you. Repentance is by ceasing the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. So, if you repent, then receive glad tidings of the acceptance of your repentance, turn to your Lord, strive in obeying Him, and do not pay attention to the whispers (of Satan).
