What is the ruling on studying "infinity" compulsorily and being tested on it in exams?

There is no harm in studying mathematics, number hierarchies, and their infinite progression. All created beings have a beginning and an end, and Allah Almighty has enumerated everything; there is nothing created that extends without end. Numbers and their infinitude are a concept imposed and apprehended only by the mind, and have no external existence. No matter how numerous the counted things are, they have a beginning and an end.
