What are the limits of marriage, after which marital ties must be abandoned?

Divorce falls into five categories:

1. Obligatory (Wajib): Such as the divorce of the mu'li (one who swears not to approach his wife) after the waiting period, if he refuses to return (to her), and the divorce by the two arbitrators in a dispute if they deem it necessary. 2. Disliked (Makrooh): This is divorce without any need for it. 3. Permissible (Mubah): When there is a need for it due to the wife's bad character, difficult companionship, or harm caused by her. 4. Recommended (Mandub): When the wife is remiss in her obligatory duties towards Allah, such as prayer, and he cannot compel her, or due to her lack of chastity. 5. Forbidden (Mahdhoor): Such as divorcing during menstruation or during a period of purity in which he had intercourse with her.

Both spouses must know their rights and duties to reduce disputes, divorce, and family disintegration.
