If the deceased leaves behind only a son, a grandson (son of the son), and a great-grandson (son of the son of the son), then the entire inheritance goes to the son. The grandson and the great-grandson receive nothing, because they do not inherit in the presence of the son and are excluded by him through a complete exclusion (hijb hirman). Muslims and jurists have unanimously agreed that the son prevents the son's son from inheriting.
