Is it permissible to sleep after performing the Fajr prayer?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It has been authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated to his Lord to bless his Ummah in their early rising. And Allah distributes people's provisions between the appearance of dawn and the rising of the sun. Therefore, the فقهاء (jurists) disliked sleeping after Fajr prayer, based on the understanding that this hour is a time for the distribution of provisions, blessings, and success. An exception to this is made for those who sleep after Fajr prayer due to having performed night vigil or similar reasons.
