Symptoms of jinn possession include: aversion to the call to prayer (Adhan) and the Quran, fainting or convulsing upon hearing the Quran, frequent terrifying dreams, loneliness and isolation, and the devil may speak during ruqyah (exorcism).

As for the symptoms of being afflicted by the evil eye: migrating headaches, pallor of the face, excessive sweating and urination, loss of appetite, numbness or heat or coldness in the extremities, heart palpitations, migrating pain in the lower back and shoulders, sadness and tightness in the chest, insomnia, severe emotional outbursts, frequent burping and yawning, love of solitude, lethargy and laziness, tendency to sleep, and health problems without a known medical cause. All or some of these signs may appear depending on the strength of the evil eye.
