Does divorce occur if I go to the land I swore not to go to because of a dispute with my wife's uncle, and is expiation for the oath permissible?

If you swear by divorce not to go to a certain place, then if you go there, divorce occurs according to the majority of scholars, and this is the preponderant opinion. The oath is dissolved by the occurrence of divorce. You can take your wife back before her 'iddah (waiting period) is complete, provided you have not divorced her before, or you have divorced her only once. However, if you have divorced her twice before, she becomes unlawful to you and will not be permissible for you unless she marries another man a valid marriage and he then divorces her after consummation.
