As for the phrase "there is weakness in it," it does not definitively rule the hadith weak or confirm its weakness; rather, it leaves open the possibility of it being "hasan." It may also be used to describe a truthful narrator who makes mistakes. Therefore, saying "weak hadith" is a stronger indication of weakness than saying "there is weakness in the hadith."
