Praying with the words, "May Allah not deprive me of you," or "May Allah not deprive me of you, neither in this world nor in the Hereafter," is not forbidden, even if other forms of supplication are more preferable. Indeed, Umm Habibah asked to enjoy the company of her husband, father, and brother. Thereupon, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told her that she was asking about predetermined lifespans and apportioned provisions, and that seeking refuge from the torment of the Fire and the grave is better and more virtuous.
