Why was Adam (peace be upon him) brought down from paradise after his repentance and seeking forgiveness? And does Allah remove blessings from a repentant, seeking-forgiveness sinner, despite Him being the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, who does not punish those who seek forgiveness?

Allah Almighty sent Adam and his progeny down to Earth for great wisdoms, among them to make them taste the toil of this world so that the value of entering Paradise would be magnified for them, and to test them with commands and prohibitions so they might attain high rewards. He also willed to choose prophets and saints from among them after testing them with enemies. Furthermore, the Almighty desired to manifest the effects of His beautiful names, such as Al-Ghafoor (the Forgiving), Ar-Raheem (the Merciful), Al-Afuww (the Pardoner), and Al-Haleem (the Clement), upon His servants, and to show His love for the patient, the benevolent, and the repentant, and others who embody qualities that earn His love. Thus, their descent to Earth was one of the greatest blessings upon them, so they might return to Paradise in a more perfect state.
