Is it permissible for a previously married woman to agree to her engagement and propose herself for marriage according to the madhhab of Imam Abu Hanifa, while adhering to the Islamic etiquettes of engagement?

The Maliki school of thought permits a mature woman to marry herself off, whether she is a virgin or previously married. The majority of scholars disagree with this. As for a mature woman proposing marriage for herself, it is permissible according to the Hanafi school and others, although it is preferable for the proposal to come through her guardians, especially if custom prevents a woman from proposing for herself.
