It is permissible to write the name of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and to invoke blessings upon his family and companions, as long as this does not expose the name of Majesty (Allah) to disrespect. Invoking blessings upon the family along with the Messenger is legislated, as in the teaching the Companions how to invoke blessings upon him, by saying: "O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." It is permissible to invoke blessings upon the companions, either as a تابع (subordinate) to the Messenger or independently. Evidence for this is the Prophet's invocation of blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa. Furthermore, the books of the Hadith scholars include invocations of blessings upon the Companions along with the Messenger in their introductions.
