How can one get rid of religious delusions that shake faith and make the heart sick and refuse to believe, and how can one return to Allah with a sound heart despite the presence of hypocrisy, an abnormal sexual inclination, and the feeling that religious stories are fictional?

The feeling of pain and sorrow due to being distant from Allah is a sign of good. Strive against whisperings [of Shaytan] and abnormal inclinations, and do not abandon good deeds for fear of showing off. Attend gatherings of knowledge and invite those who do not pray to your home, for da'wah (inviting to Islam) increases faith. Increase in supplication, accompany righteous people, and frequently remember Allah and recite His Book. Strive against your lower self in performing acts of obedience.
