The answer

There are multiple differences between deferred sales and usury of delay. A deferred sale's price does not increase with delayed payment, and it involves real goods that stimulate the economy. Usury, on the other hand, increases with delayed payment and is not based on a commodity. For this reason, Allah permitted trade due to its benefits and forbade usury due to its harms, making it one of the gravest sins.
