Is it permissible for a female student to refuse a suitor who stipulates that she abandon her studies, in order to complete her education?

The decision rests with the woman. If she yearns for marriage and the suitor is pleasing in his religiosity and character, then marriage is preferable, and she should halt her studies. However, if she needs to complete her studies for a job and does not yearn for marriage, then completing her studies is better. It is important to emphasize the prohibition of being alone with her or speaking with her except out of necessity and with complete modesty and decorum, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No man is alone with a woman but Satan is the third of them."
