Does the falling of ants or mosquitoes into the water used for Wudu' (ablution) render it impure?

If ants or mosquitoes fall into water and die in it, the water does not become impure thereby, because they do not possess flowing blood. This is the opinion of most jurists. However, if a quantity of them dies in the water and the water does not change, then purification with it is valid, because a pure substance does not remove the purity of water unless it changes it. It is permissible according to the Shafi'is due to the difficulty of guarding against it, provided they were not intentionally thrown in. If the color, taste, or smell of the water clearly changes, then purification with it is not valid according to the majority of jurists. It is valid, however, according to a narration among the Hanbalis, which Ibn Taymiyyah preferred.
