What is the Sunnah concerning bearing children? Is a specific period between births obligatory, and what is most preferable in that regard?

Procreation is one of the greatest objectives of marriage, and it is a shared right of both spouses. If they agree to postpone or regulate it for a benefit, there is no sin. As for the period between children, there is no obligatory duration by Islamic law, but it is preferable that it not be less than two years.
