Some scholars dislike reading at the grave. And whoever vows to do something disliked () should offer an expiation for his vow, like the expiation for an oath, and not do it. It was narrated from Al-Marwadhi that whoever vows to read at his father's grave should offer expiation for his oath and not read. Some considered it an innovation (bid'ah).
