Is it permissible for a girl who suffers from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder regarding ritual purity, and who was advised by an Imam to stop praying until she recovers, to remain in this state, and is it permissible for her to take medication to regulate her irregular menstrual cycle?

We advise you to turn away from whisperings (waswas) and not to indulge in them, due to the great harm they cause to your religion and worldly life. Your cessation of obligatory prayers is sufficient proof of this. Know that the original state of things is purity, so there is no need for doubts. Things are judged to remain in their original state until certainty of the contrary is established. Ghusl (ritual bath) is not required after janabah unless the emission of semen is confirmed. Taking medication to expedite menstruation before its due time is permissible, unless it results in harm to the woman's health.
