Is it permissible to adopt the easier opinion among the sayings of scholars when they differ, especially when there is difficulty or whisperings (waswas)? And does the statement of the Malikis and Hanafis that "moist (things) are not rendered impure by meeting dry impure (things)" include wet clothing?

The person afflicted with whisperings (waswas) should adopt the easier opinion in matters where he experiences such whisperings. This is not considered blameworthy pursuit of concessions. Upon his recovery from the whisperings, he should follow what is incumbent upon the layperson when the opinions of scholars differ for him.
