What is the explanation of the Hadith in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Is one of you unable to keep a good companion in this world, then, if something intervenes between him and the one who is more deserving of him, he should say 'Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn' (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return), then say: 'My Lord, grant me solace for what You have taken, and help me with what You have left,' for by Him in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, one of you will surely weep and seek help from a female companion, so O servants of Allah, do not torment your dead"?

This Hadith was narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah and Al-Tabarani, and Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar described its chain of narration as "Hasan" (good). It is from the Hadith of Qaylah bint Makhramah Al-Anbariyyah. The meaning of the Hadith, "Does one of you overcome," is that a woman should live with her husband with kindness as long as he is alive, and when he dies, she should say, "Verily, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return," and supplicate: "My Lord, comfort me among those You have taken, and grant me gratitude for what You have left." The masculine pronoun was used in the Hadith despite the context of addressing females due to the intermingling of narrations. Some scholars used this Hadith as evidence that the deceased suffers from the wailing of their family, as some narrations state: "Indeed, one of you weeps, and his companion weeps with him" instead of "One of you weeps, and her companion weeps with her."
