The answer

The majority of jurists see no objection to naming a child "Jibreel" (Gabriel), while some of them disliked it. The majority based their view on the fact that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, named his son Ibrahim, and some of his companions bore the names of prophets. As for naming women with the names of angels, it is apparently forbidden, especially names like "Malak" (angel) and "Malikah" (queen/angelic). The preponderant opinion is the permissibility of naming males with the names of angels, as there is no prohibition mentioned for that. However, it is preferable to opt for other names such as "Abdullah," "Abdul Rahman," "Muhammad," or "Ahmad."
