Is it permissible to perform ghusl and make the intention for ihram for Umrah from Egypt, and what should the female pilgrim do on the plane, and where is the miqat for talbiyah? Is it permissible to remain in ihram when landing in Madinah or Jeddah first, before reaching Makkah?

It is permissible to perform ghusl (ritual bath) and wear the ihram garments at home before boarding the plane, but the intention for ihram (niyyat al-ihram) is not permissible until one is abreast of the Miqat. So, whoever comes by air or sea should enter into ihram when they are abreast of the Miqat, saying, "Labbayk Allahumma bi-Umrah (Here I am, O Allah, for 'Umrah)."

However, if the intention is to first disembark in Madinah, then the ihram is delayed until after visiting Madinah, and they all enter into ihram from the Miqat of the people of Madinah (Abyar Ali).

But if the intention is to disembark in Jeddah, it is not permissible to delay the ihram past the Miqat.
