Must a new marriage contract be performed, or is a revocable return (rajʿah) sufficient, if the husband divorced his wife via text message, then took her back after two months and 20 days with the testimony of two men, and after two months the wife sent him a message saying that she is no longer under his marital authority because her waiting period (ʿiddah) had ended with three menstrual cycles, and she now desires to return?

A woman is entrusted with what Allah creates in her womb, such as menstruation, and she is to be believed in what she reports concerning the waiting period ('iddah (definition)). If she states that her 'iddah has ended within a probable timeframe, she is to be believed. Thus, if a woman reports that her 'iddah has ended before her husband reviews (revokes the divorce), she is to be believed, and a minor irrevocable divorce occurs. She does not become lawful for him except with a new contract and a new dowry.
