What is the difference between "mawāḍiʿ az-zīnah" (places of adornment) and "ʿayn az-zīnah" (the adornment itself) for a woman?

"Zinah" (adornment) is a comprehensive term for everything with which a woman adorns herself, such as jewelry. The "mawāḍiʿ az-zinah" (places of adornment) are the parts of her body where a woman places adornment, such as her face, hands, chest, and legs. Sometimes "zinah" is mentioned, and what is intended are its places, as stated in the verse: "And let them not expose their adornment except to their husbands..." (Qur'an 24:31). Here, what is intended are the places of adornment, such as the face, hands, forearms, neck, chest, and legs.
