What is the ruling on alcohol?

Everything that covers the intellect is (intoxicant), and its use, sale, or purchase is forbidden, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Every intoxicant is unlawful." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed ten individuals in relation to Khamr. Khamr is the mother of all evils; whoever drinks it will not have their prayers accepted for forty days, and whoever dies with it in their stomach dies a death of ignorance. Whoever is afflicted by it must repent with sincere repentance.
