Is it permissible to retract an oath of divorce after saying: "By Allah, if I tell anyone, you are divorced with triple talaq"? And is this considered an oath of divorce, knowing that the intention was to threaten, not to divorce?

According to the majority of jurists, an oath of divorce cannot be dissolved or revoked. Therefore, if the wife does what the husband swore by, a divorce occurs according to the majority, even if the husband only intended to threaten. However, Ibn Taymiyyah holds that an expiation for the oath is required, and divorce does not occur unless the husband intended it. The oath is affected by intention and cause if there was a specific intention or if the cause for which the oath was sworn no longer exists. One should be cautious and not take the matter of divorce lightly.
