What is incumbent upon one who borrowed a sum and could not find it within the agreed-upon period, and is a sale valid if there are no witnesses to it?

The insolvent debtor in debt must be given time until he is able to pay, according to the Almighty’s saying: "And if there is one in adversity, then wait until he is able to pay." And a sale is valid without witnesses.
