What is the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding the maintenance of children and the maintenance of pregnancy, in the event that the divorced man does not recall his intention behind the divorce, and whether he intended to intimidate or to effect a divorce?

Firstly: If you did not intend divorce at the time of the threat, then divorce does not occur by the wife leaving without your permission, and you must offer an expiation for a broken oath (kaffarat yamin).

Secondly: The maintenance of children and the unborn child is obligatory upon the father, even if the wife is disobedient (nashiz) or divorced; because the maintenance is for the unborn child itself.
