What was the reason for the revelation of the noble verse: "O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not reached puberty among you ask permission three times?"

The scholars mentioned that the reason for the revelation of the aforementioned verse goes back to Asma bint Marthad complaining to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about her grown slave entering upon her, or to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sending a slave boy from the Ansar to Umar ibn al-Khattab, then the slave boy returning to find this verse had been revealed, so he prostrated in gratitude to Allah the Almighty. This verse is considered one of the verses in which Umar's opinion coincided with the Holy Quran.
