Who is Anas ibn Malik?

Anas ibn Malik, also known as Abu Hamza al-Ansari, was the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and one of those who narrated extensively from him. He served the Prophet for ten years after his arrival in Medina. The Prophet supplicated for him for blessings in wealth and offspring and for entry into Paradise, and he was indeed blessed in these matters. He passed away in the year 93 AH, though it is also said that it was earlier than that.
