Can a human smell the scent of Paradise in this world?

Paradise has a pleasant scent that can be detected from afar, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its fragrance can be detected from a distance of such-and-such." However, it has not been proven that living people in this world can smell its fragrance, except for what was narrated about Anas ibn al-Nadr (may Allah be pleased with him) on the Day of Uhud, when he said: "I smell its fragrance from before Uhud." Scholars have differed on the meaning of this statement. Some said that he truly smelled it, while others said that he brought Paradise to mind through his certainty. It is possible that the questioner smelled a pleasant scent that reminded him of Paradise. There is no evidence to prove or deny the possibility of some righteous people smelling the fragrance of Paradise in this world as a miracle for them. However, whoever claims to enter Paradise while awake, disbelieves and is asked to repent.
