What is the ruling on saying "hunger is an infidel" when feeling hungry and as a joke?

The saying that hunger is a disbeliever (كافر) means that severe hunger can lead its owner to disbelief (kufr), disobedience, and abandoning acts of worship. In this regard, it resembles poverty. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sought refuge from hunger, saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from hunger, for it is indeed a wretched companion." The reason for seeking refuge from it is that it weakens the body from performing acts of obedience, distorts the mind, and stirs up corrupt thoughts. Therefore, it is permissible to describe hunger as a disbeliever metaphorically.
