Is the interpretation that hunger was created to demonstrate human weakness, and that were it not for hunger, humans would become arrogant on earth, and that God inspired humans to eat and drink and created sustenance for them—is this a correct interpretation?

My advice to those who engage their minds in this field is to occupy themselves with contemplating Allah's visible and recited signs, and to consider the news of revelation regarding humanity and the universe. For Allah reveals in the universe and in humanity signs that demonstrate His power, lordship, and meticulous planning. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that reflecting upon Allah's signs leads to knowledge of Him, His oneness, and His perfect attributes, giving examples such as the creation of humanity. Allah Almighty tests His servants with hunger, and this is not exclusive to the arrogant; rather, believers may also be tested by it. Hunger has an effect on a person and causes weakness, which is why the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge in Allah from hunger.
