Even according to the view of obligation, duties are waived due to excuses, and fear of contagion is considered an excuse that waives the obligation of straightening rows, just as is the case with an individual praying alone outside the row due to an excuse. Consequently, maintaining distance between worshippers to guard against contagion is considered an excuse that permits not straightening the rows. Praying in congregation at home is permissible, and the worshipper receives its reward, but misses the virtue of going to the mosque.
