Is hearing expletives between fictional characters in electronic games considered unlawful (haram)?

Hearing insults, curses, and obscene language in games, even if from fictional characters, may lead to becoming accustomed to it, not denouncing it, and perhaps even engaging in it. Therefore, such games should be avoided. A Muslim should utilize their time and energy in what benefits them, such as reading stories of the Prophets and biographies of the righteous predecessors, or engaging in sports, rather than in what might harm them, like becoming familiar with foul language.
