What is the expiation for one who has reviled and detested the religion, transgressed against the Qur’an, and then repented?

Hating Islam and standing on the Mushaf are acts of apostasy from Islam. One must repent, return to Islam, and follow bad deeds with good ones. Scholars differed on making up missed Ramadan fasts for an apostate:

- The Shafi'is and Hanbalis hold that making them up is obligatory, which is the more cautious approach and better for one's accountability.

- The Permanent Committee, Malikis, and Hanafis believe that making them up is not obligatory, citing the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Islam demolishes what came before it."
