Does a difference in the intention of the Witr prayer between the Imam and the worshipper affect the validity of the worshipper's prayer, and must the Imam inform the congregants about how to perform the Witr prayer?

Firstly: Performing Witr prayer with three separate rak'ahs is better than performing them connected, due to the increase in effort and the renewal of intention.

Secondly: If the worshipper (ma'mum) intends to pray two rak'ahs, but the Imam then prays three connected rak'ahs, the ma'mum must change his intention and follow the Imam, and his prayer will be valid.

Thirdly: The Imam is not obliged to inform the worshippers (ma'mumeen) about the manner of performing the Witr prayer.

Fourthly: It is permissible for the worshipper (ma'mum) to intend to pray Witr with a general intention and follow the Imam in the number of rak'ahs, whether they are separated or connected.
