The answer

The preponderant opinion is that a woman irrevocably divorced ( bain) is not entitled to maintenance (nafaqa) or housing. As for a woman revocably divorced (talaq raj'i) or a pregnant woman, she is entitled to maintenance from a financially capable husband. The consolatory gift (mut'ah) for a divorced woman with whom consummation has occurred is recommended, not obligatory. It is advised not to demand anything, for whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
